This support reflects our corporate mission of building trust with our employees and our customers. Especially in the seafood category, trust and transparency have been historically lacking. We believe in third-party certifications and verification and the Non-GMO Project follows suit along with our commitment to the Marine Stewardship Council (sustainability), American Heart Association (reduced sodium levels), 100% Gluten Free from the Gluten Free Certification Program. What’s surprising or fun fact about your products that consumers might want to know?

It’s not IMITATION CRAB. Its a seafood product using Alaskan Pollock (surimi) as its main ingredient. Surimi Seafood has been a part of the Japanese diets for over 100 years!

Why is it important for your brand to support the Non-GMO Project and transparency in our food supply?

While genetically modified fish are not yet being canned we want to raised awareness of this possibility while at the same time reminding consumers how valuable wild harvested seafood is an unadulterated food. Third-party verification of the non-GMO status of food is vital to transparency in the food chain, especially in light of current resistance at the governmental level for requiring the labeling of GM food.

What’s surprising or fun fact about your products that consumers might want to know?

There are seasons to fish harvests! Just like raspberries and tomatoes, different fish are harvested at different times of the year.

The entire Crown Prince Natural brand is Non-GMO Project Verified. My favorite product is our Smoked Oysters; my cat’s is our Skinless Boneless Sardines in Olive Oil!

We always strive to use as many non-GMO ingredients for our vast product line, but this year we took it up a notch. We’re launching a new line of 10 non-GMO items in smaller convenient pack sizes to help increase access to non-GMO snack items. We’re excited to see our new Energy To Go line in snack stores across the country providing people a healthier option for their snacking.

We hate to be biased because all of our Whole Fruit products are delicious – but if we had to choose one – it would be our Whole Fruit Organic Juice Tube Apple Strawberry flavor. The Apple offers a flavorful twist to the traditional Strawberry flavor!
