Non-GMO Month is here again and we’ve got a lot to celebrate. Stay tuned all month for giveaways, celebrations, and new ways to stay informed on all things non-GMO.

With over 50,000 Verified products and over 14,000 Registered Retailers, we are actively changing the scene at the supermarket and showing our commitment to the belief that everyone has a right to choose what’s in their food. By making these conscious choices, we vote with our dollars (over 26 billion this year!) and make it clear that we deserve transparency around what goes into our food and, in turn, our bodies. We encourage you to support the brands and retailers that support your right to know what is in your food!

What’s so important about shopping non-GMO?

Let’s get back to basics. We know that GMOs are organisms whose genetic makeup has been artificially modified in a laboratory. Almost all commercial GMOs are engineered to withstand direct application of herbicide and/or to produce an insecticide. Although the biotech industry promises enhanced nutrition, increased yield, and other benefits, none of this has been proven to be true. It’s important to shop non-GMO so we protect the environment and support a safe food supply for future generations.

Looking back the corporate history of Monsanto with the PCB fiasco, who is on the wrong side of the GMO issue is crystal clear. Hope their attempt to argue against the truth of carcinogenic nature glyphosate would fail with miserable results. – Michiganian
