Emma is excited to bring her background of non-profit development, worksite wellness, and interests in sustainability & health into her role as Operations Assistant at the Non-GMO Project. Emma grew up in Saratoga Springs, New York where she spent two summers working on an organic vegetable farm. She earned her B.A. in Communications and Global Studies from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York where she volunteered for a number of nonprofits and mission-driven music festivals in the community. Following college, Emma volunteered as an Americorps VISTA for an affordable housing and community development non-profit, and later worked for a partnering social enterprise coffee roaster that sourced Fair Trade Organic coffee and created jobs for formerly homeless individuals. She further explored her interest in sustainable food systems by volunteering at a permaculture center while traveling in Thailand. Prior to relocating to Bellingham, Emma coordinated worksite wellness programs for a variety of organizations.
Along with her partner, Emma took a road-trip clockwise around the US and landed at a family-member’s in Seattle. She settled in the Bellingham area in June of 2018 and found work as a personal assistant to an owner of a local professional organizing company.
In her free time, Emma enjoys being active in the outdoors and exploring the many new and interesting places that Pacific Northwest has to offer. She currently lives in a tiny house with her partner and their black cat, Midnight.
