For the non-GMO challenge, I have committed to grow only non-GMO vegetables and flowers in my urban garden. Being an avid gardener my main concern is for my health and my family. In addition to my own health, I have pledged to provide health, sanctuary, and food to our pollinators. With GMO crops requiring pesticides and killing many of these such species, I have taken it upon myself to plant and grow non-GMO plants while providing knowledge to others simultaneously. I feel that it is thoroughly important to support pollinators and to support a healthy diet for oneself in order to provide balance not only for the body but for the ecosystem as a whole. Wether it just be my urban veggie and flower garden, or the information and knowledge I spread to friends and neighbors, I truest believe non-GMO as a viable lifestyle.
